From 15 to 21 June 2026, the historic Tzivre Industrial Complex in Soufli hosts the 2026 Silk Festival, organised by the Friends of Silk Association “Chrysalida”.
Something truly beautiful is unfolding in the heart of Soufli. The historic industrial complex has come alive, transformed into a vibrant cultural crossroads where the town’s rich silk heritage meets contemporary global art.
Brought to life by the Friends of Silk Association “Chrysalida”, the festival is much more than a local celebration. It has become an international meeting point, bringing together artists, visitors, and communities through a shared appreciation for textile history, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage.
A perfect example of this global synergy is the presence of an artist residency from Italy, joining the festival in Soufli and helping to bridge different cultures through a shared interest in textile traditions. At the same time, the festival has also welcomed a visitor from Denmark, who travelled to Soufli specifically to experience the unique charm and heritage of the town.
The Silk Museum, a Tracks4Crafts partner, is closely connected to this cultural context, contributing to the wider visibility of Soufli’s silk heritage and supporting dialogue around craft knowledge, textile history, and the transmission of traditional skills.
This year, the festival grounds are animated by a rich and interactive programme. Beyond the visual arts, visitors can take part in hands-on educational workshops, enjoy live concerts under the summer sky, and attend a special documentary screening about the old weavers of Vlasti.
The festival forms a living community of craftsmanship, local passion, and international curiosity, all unfolding around the endless possibilities of a single silk thread.
The event runs until 21 June 2026.
