About Artex

The Ceramic Futures pilot, implemented by Artex, the Centre for the Artistic and Traditional Craftsmanship in Tuscany, is based on the Officina Creativa Lab project. It is a multifunctional and cross-sectoral space in the center of Florence that acts as a driving force for local – Florentine and TuscanItalian and international arts and crafts, in relationship with other creative industries, both traditional and innovative. It is a place established by the Municipality of Florence where craftspeople, designers, students  and anyone interested in the world of crafts can meet, work and learn together, and form a unique community. It supports young craftspeople and SMEs to get established and grow into sustainable businesses by providing physical facilities, including a ceramics workshop, a network of experts and support with specific skills (e.g .in the form of webinars).

Activities

  • Artex will host physical and online workshops that apply new technologies through the various stages of processing and/or marketing ceramics products

  • Artex will develop a series of business-focused capacity-building seminars, both in person and online, to develop entrepreneurship, marketing, and digital skills that contemporary craftspeople may need
