Second field research mission
The ceramics ecosystem, with a focus on the institutional, safeguarding and innovation frameworks

The EIREST research team, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, represented by Francesca Cominelli and Clara Vecchio, carried out the second field research mission in the framework of the HORIZON 2022 Tracks4Crafts project, co-funded by the European Union.

 This mission took place from the 13th to the 16th of November 2023, in Florence, Italy driven by one of the Tracks4Crafts pilot cases Artex, with its Director Elisa Guidi and the Project Manager Costanza Materassi. Artex plays a key role in the development and promotion of artistic craftsmanship in Italy, particularly in Tuscany and Florence.


The research team was able to explore in depth the ceramics ecosystem, with a focus on the institutional, safeguarding and innovation frameworks, thanks to the meeting of differents actors:  Regione Toscana, Comune di Firenze, the Chamber of commerce of Florence, Firenze Fiera S.p.a MIDA, School of ceramics and experimental center of Montelupo Fiorentino, Bitossi Archive, the potters of the Giusti workshop, the Academy SCHOLA, the Entreprise “Creatori d’emozioni”.
