In recent weeks, the European Crafts Alliance has successfully hosted two insightful online events aimed at exploring and strengthening the role of crafts in today’s society.
The first event, “Unveiling the Potential of the Craft Sector”, offered a deep dive into a comprehensive study examining the economic, social, and cultural value of crafts across Europe. Held on 12th March, the online presentation brought together policymakers, researchers, and craft professionals to discuss key findings and future opportunities for the sector. The study sheds light on the untapped potential of crafts as a driver for sustainable growth, innovation, and local development.
Building on this momentum, the Alliance organized a second webinar titled “Crafting Social: How Creativity and Entrepreneurship Can Foster Social Inclusion”. This session focused on the transformative power of crafts in promoting inclusion, particularly among marginalized communities. Featuring inspiring case studies and voices from the field, the webinar highlighted how creative practices and small-scale entrepreneurship can create pathways to social cohesion and empowerment.
Both initiatives reflect the European Crafts Alliance’s ongoing commitment to supporting crafts as a vital part of Europe’s cultural and economic fabric. By fostering dialogue, sharing knowledge, and championing inclusive practices, the Alliance continues to pave the way for a more resilient and connected craft ecosystem.
